Monarchy now essential for Nepal: Mishra

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) senior vice-chair and Kathmandu-1 candidate Rabindra Mishra has asserted that a monarchy is essential for Nepal.

Speaking at the party’s candidate interview program on Sunday, Mishra claimed that all communities, languages, religions, parties, groups, and individuals need the “umbrella” of monarchy to move the country forward.

He emphasized that RPP seeks a governance system with a monarchy and urged voters to support the party, stating that without their backing, Nepal cannot overcome its current crises.

Mishra also noted that even leaders critical of the monarchy have begun showing silence on the issue.
