Ruling coalition to meet at 5:00 pm today
KATHMANDU: FEB. 17 – The ruling party’s top leaders are meeting to discuss issues such as the US-backed Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).
According to Govinda Pariyar, the Prime Minister’s Press Chief, the meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. today in coordination with the Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba.
The meeting, to be held at the PM’s residence in Baluwatar, will be attended by top leaders of the ruling party Congress, CPN (Maoist Center), CPN (Unified Socialist), JSP Nepal and Rastriya Janamorcha.
According to reports, the House of Representatives will meet on February 18 to discuss issues such as forming a common position to table the MCC proposal. Although the government planned to table the proposal at Wednesday’s parliament meeting, it was not tabled due to a lack of consensus among the ruling parties.
