MCC project in Nepal set to resume after U.S. review completion

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Finance has announced the resumption of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) project in Nepal, which had been paused following Donald Trump’s presidential tenure.

Issuing a press statement released on Monday, the ministry confirmed that the review process, initiated under the Jan 20, 2025 executive order, has now been successfully completed.

Further, the MCC conveyed through an official letter dated July 24, 2025, that the review has concluded and endorsed the continuation of Nepal’s MCC compact, paving the way for renewed progress.
