Losing ministerial post, Kirati said – ‘I was able to cheat political death’
Reflecting on his tenure, Kirati expressed mixed emotions, stating that while he felt apprehensive upon assuming office, he departs with a sense of fulfillment.
KATHMANDU: As Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ reshuffles the Cabinet, the former Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Sudan Kirati, has vacated his official residence.
Reflecting on his tenure, Kirati expressed mixed emotions, stating that while he felt apprehensive upon assuming office, he departs with a sense of fulfillment.
Having served for 413 days, Kirati emphasized his dedication to serving the nation and its people throughout his tenure.
He extended gratitude to Prime Minister Prachanda, the party, and the electorate for entrusting him with the responsibility, expressing optimism that his successor would continue the initiatives he initiated.
He wrote on Facebook, ‘Today I am leaving the residence given by the government. I was very scared when I entered but I am happy when I left. My mother used to say ‘it’s hard to get a responsibility, it’s even harder to fulfill it’.
During my 413-day tenure as a minister, I’ve had the honor to serve our country and its people. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister “Prachanda,” my party, the voters who supported me, and all those who offered their support and sympathy from across the globe. My team and I have worked tirelessly, planting seeds of progress. I trust that the next caretaker will nurture these seeds to fruition.
While residing here, I witnessed my father’s passing, a singular personal loss amidst countless political setbacks. While physical demise may evade determination and faith, political challenges can be overcome with unwavering resolve and belief.
