Lingden’s personal secretary assaults RPP leader with helmet
According to Gaire, the incident took place at Bishalnagar while he was having tea with friends.
KATHMANDU Rajendra Lingden’s personal secretary, Kshetra Kadayat, allegedly attacked Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) leader Raju Gaire from Palpa with a helmet in Kathmandu on Wednesday.
According to Gaire, the incident took place at Bishalnagar while he was having tea with friends.
Kadayat reportedly approached him, took him aside, questioned him about a social media post critical of RPP Chair Lingden, and then struck him with a helmet.
Gaire has made the video of the attack public through social media. In his post, he warned that if justice is not served, he will hang himself at the party office in protest.
“Don’t try to cover up the incident or manipulate the situation under the pretext of negotiation,” Gaire wrote. “If any attempt is made to grant impunity through political power, I will not remain silent.”
The incident has sparked concern within the party and among observers, raising questions about internal discipline and leadership accountability in RPP.
