KATHMANDU: Former Home Minister and Nepali Congress leader Ramesh Lekhak is reportedly in a dilemma after being summoned by the inquiry commission investigating the events of Bhadra 23 and 24.

The commission, headed by former Special Court Chairperson Gauri Bahadur Karki, had decided on Tuesday to take Lekhak’s statement and was preparing to issue an official notice.

Sources say Lekhak is undecided on whether to appear before the commission and is seeking political and legal advice.

Although he received informal notice of the summons, Lekhak has told media that he has not yet received the official letter.

Amid the uncertainty, Lekhak visited Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s residence in Maharajgunj on Wednesday to discuss his response and the commission’s notice.

Former Prime Minister and CPN-UML leader KP Sharma Oli has reportedly advised him against appearing before the commission.
