Lamichhane heads to Bhairahawa by vehicle
As per the court’s directive, he needed to appear in person at Rupandehi District Court to complete the release process.
KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President and former Gorkha Media managing director, Rabi Lamichhane, left Bharatpur Airport by car for Rupandehi District Court after flights to Bhairahawa were canceled due to dense fog.
Lamichhane had been granted conditional release on bail by the Butwal bench of the Tulsipur High Court on a cooperative fraud case, overturning the Rupandehi District Court’s earlier order dated 26 Shrawan.
As per the court’s directive, he needed to appear in person at Rupandehi District Court to complete the release process.
Rupandehi District Court information officer Padam Aryal confirmed that the court would ensure Lamichhane’s presence through police facilitation.
Initially scheduled to fly from Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu at 7 AM on Friday, Lamichhane had to divert to Bharatpur due to poor visibility.
Supporters gathered outside the court and Gautam Buddha Airport in anticipation of his arrival.
