Lalveer Chaudhary unanimously elected Chair of NUP

KATHMANDU: The Nagarik Unmukti Party (NUP) has unanimously elected Lalveer Chaudhary, a current member of the House of Representatives, as its new chairman.

The decision was made at the party’s national convention held in Kathmandu.

Alongside the leadership change, the convention also decided to expel former party chairperson Ranjita Shrestha, removing her from all party positions.

This move follows recent internal conflicts within the party, which led to the dismissal of Shrestha and a reshuffle in the party’s leadership.

According to party sources, the new leadership aims to strengthen the party and bring clarity to its future political strategies.
