‘Kumari’ gears up for grand musical trailer launch in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: The much-awaited romantic film of the year, Kumari, set to hit theaters nationwide from Feb 6, is turning up the heat with an aggressive and music-driven promotional campaign.

The film’s production team has been touring major cities across the country, creating vibrant musical atmospheres to engage audiences.

As part of this campaign, a grand musical event is scheduled for Saturday, Jan 24, at 5 PM at the open grounds of Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu.

During the event, the film’s official trailer will also be unveiled, adding to the excitement.

The musical journey began on Jan 15 in Nepalgunj, followed by a spectacular performance at Pokhara’s Lakeside on Jan 17 and Chitwan’s Narayani area on Jan 20.

Thousands of enthusiastic spectators attended these events, generating a surge of public interest in the film. Following these successful shows, the Kumari team is preparing an even more special presentation for the Kathmandu event.

The Bhrikutimandap concert will feature Kehar Singh Limbu and his band ‘Kehar and the Lunga’ as the main performers.

Additionally, the popular female vocal group ‘Istries’ will captivate the audience with their performance.

According to executive producer Kedar Bhusal, the concert will be completely free of charge, aiming to connect the public with the film’s cast and music without any barriers.

The trailer launch will also see appearances by lead actors Abhishek Khadka and Aakriti Rajbhandari, director Dinesh Raut, the entire film crew, celebrities, journalists, and the general public.

Director Raut expressed his excitement, stating that the overwhelming love and craze for the film in regional cities have been deeply inspiring.

Produced by Mahendra Adhikari under the Vinish Entertainment banner and written by Bikash Subedi, the film’s musical tour will conclude in Damak, Jhapa on Jan 31, following the Kathmandu event.

Songs from the movie, including ‘Doko Bunne’, have already amassed nearly 5 million views on YouTube, while tracks like ‘Kata Chhau Mero Phool’ and ‘Timi Bina’ have created widespread buzz on TikTok and Reels, heightening anticipation for the trailer release.
