Koshi PA passes annual policy and program with majority

KATHMANDU: The Koshi Provincial Assembly today passed the annual policy and program presented by Chief Minister Hikmat Kumar Karki with a majority vote.
A joint amendment proposal submitted by members Gombu Sherpa and Khinu Limbu was rejected by the majority in the assembly.
During the discussion on the policy and program, 46 members participated.
Chief Minister Karki, while requesting the approval of the policy and program, emphasized the government’s commitment to building a “clean, happy, and prosperous province.”
He stated that strengthening the federal democratic republican system remains a key priority for the provincial government.
He also highlighted plans for expanding the tax base, ensuring financial governance, and implementing policy and institutional reforms to sustainably manage resources for development.
