KATHMANDU: Kolkata Knight Riders kept their IPL playoff hopes alive with a commanding 29-run victory over Gujarat Titans at Eden Gardens on Sunday.
Batting first, Kolkata posted a massive 247/2 in 20 overs after a stunning display from opener Finn Allen, who smashed 93 runs off just 35 balls, including 10 sixes and four boundaries.

Chasing a daunting 248-run target, Gujarat Titans managed 218/4 in their 20 overs despite a fighting knock from captain Shubman Gill, who scored 85 off 49 balls with seven sixes and five fours.
Jos Buttler contributed 57 from 35 deliveries, while Sai Sudharsan remained unbeaten on 53. However, Gujarat fell short as Kolkata sealed an important victory.
The win keeps Kolkata’s playoff chances alive in the Indian Premier League standings. Gujarat remain second with 16 points, while Kolkata moved to seventh with 11 points.
Had Gujarat won the match, they would have become the first team to qualify for the playoffs.
