KATHMANDU: A blistering half-century each from Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma powered Sunrisers Hyderabad to a thrilling five-wicket win over Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League 2026.

Chasing a daunting 229 in Jaipur, Hyderabad reached the target with nine balls to spare, finishing at 229/5 in 18.3 overs in a high-scoring contest.

Earlier, Rajasthan posted a formidable 228/6, riding on a sensational century from young batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi.

The youngster smashed 103 off just 37 balls, bringing up his hundred in only 36 deliveries with an explosive display of power-hitting.

Dhruv Jurel added 51, and the pair stitched a 112-run stand for the second wicket. Eshan Malinga picked up two wickets for Hyderabad.

In reply, Hyderabad suffered an early setback when Travis Head was dismissed in the opening over by Jofra Archer.

However, Abhishek and Kishan turned the game around with a breathtaking 132-run partnership off just 55 balls for the second wicket.

Abhishek struck 57, while Kishan led the charge with 74, keeping the required rate under control. Despite a late wicket, including Donovan Ferreira, Hyderabad maintained momentum to seal a memorable chase.

Archer claimed two wickets for Rajasthan, but his efforts were not enough to prevent defeat.

The victory also marked a winning return for Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins, while Suryavanshi’s remarkable century ultimately went in vain.
