KATHMANDU: Jagnnath Chaudhary, candidate from the Nagrik Unmukti Party Nepal for Kailali-5, has officially joined the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and withdrawn his candidacy.
Chaudhary cited alignment between his agenda—good governance, inclusivity, and development—and that of RSP candidate Ananda Chand as the reason for his decision, emphasizing the need for collaboration to bring about change.
He was welcomed into the party by RSP central member Laxman Tharu, leaders Hari Regmi and Jashu Bhatt, and Chand himself.
Speaking at the event, Chand said Chaudhary’s mature leadership would strengthen the party.
Chaudhary had previously contested the provincial assembly elections.
