KATHMANDU: The Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) and the Rastriya Mukti Party Nepal have reached an agreement on operational unity.

On Thursday, both parties signed a formal pact in Kathmandu, with JSP Chair Ashok Rai and RMPN Chair Rajendra Mahato endorsing the document.

The agreement stipulates that even after forming operational unity, both parties remain free to engage in separate collaborations, alliances, or mergers with other political entities.

In such cases, the existing operational unity will remain intact, and both parties are obliged to follow the directives issued by the Central Coordination Committee as well as decisions made by provincial and district committees.

The party presiding over a meeting will coordinate media coverage—including newspapers, television, and FM radio—and brief the public on the meeting outcomes.

During joint public programs, both parties will present their views based on the agreed objectives, policies, and programs of the operational unity.

Each party is expected to fulfill its assigned responsibilities on time.

Neither party is allowed to publicly criticize the other or act against the principles of the operational unity during joint events.

However, both parties retain the freedom to conduct their own separate activities in accordance with their respective party policies.
