KATHMANDU: Singer Jhuma Limbu and The Raithane Band are set to host the “Raithane Ghumpir Concert 2082” in collaboration with the upcoming Nepali film Jaari 2, which is scheduled for release on Ashoj 3.
The musical journey will kick off on Bhadra 21 at LOD Club, Thamel, Kathmandu, where the Jaari 2 team will also present a traditional Chyabrung dance.
The tour will cover 10 different cities across Nepal, where Jhuma and her band will perform solo shows.
Alongside the main concert, each stop will highlight local art, culture, and music, giving priority to indigenous traditions.
“This journey is dedicated to promoting cultural identity,” said Limbu. The concerts will feature performances inspired by diverse Nepali folk traditions such as Hakpare Palam, Chyabrung, Ghaatu, Sorathi, Deuda, and Maruni music and dance.
Limbu emphasized that folk music is not only entertainment but also a reflection of Nepal’s cultural lifestyle, history, and community unity. She added, “We hope this journey will carry our culture and music to the younger generation. Raithane Ghumpir aims to serve as a bridge connecting the music and culture of villages with cities.”
For this year, the tour will be organized only within Nepal, with plans to expand it internationally next year.
Each performance will honor local artists, instruments, and cultural diversity, ensuring a celebration of Nepal’s rich heritage.
Further details of the “Raithane Ghumpir Concert 2082” will be announced gradually.
