‘Janai Harayeako Manchhe’ premiere moves audience to tears (photos)

KATHMANDU: The premiere of the family drama ‘Janai Harayeako Manchhe: Sambandhaka Dhaga’ moved audiences to tears as it showcased the intricate bonds of family.
Held on Wednesday at One Cinema in New Baneshwor, Kathmandu, the special screening saw prominent figures from the Nepali film industry and enthusiastic viewers deeply touched by the emotionally charged narrative.

Veteran actor Sunil Thapa, acclaimed cinematographer Gaurishankar Dhunju, actors Jitu Nepal, Kamalmani Nepal, writer and lyricist Biplav Pratik, actor Kiran Shrestha, and scriptwriter Pradeep Bhardwaj were among the notable personalities in attendance.

The film poignantly explores the relationships between parents and siblings, weaving themes of love, memories, and responsibility.

Many viewers were visibly moved during the screening, with some unable to hold back tears. Actress Keki Adhikari and singer Anju Panta were among those seen wiping away tears as the story unfolded on screen.

Exiting the cinema, audiences shared that the film resonated with their own familial experiences. “Watching the sacrifices parents make for their children and the responsibilities children must uphold left me unable to hold back tears,” one viewer said. Set to release nationwide on Friday, Bhadra 6, the film features performances by Bijay Baral, Keki Adhikari, Miruna Magar, Shushank Mainali, Bholaraj Sapkota, Gaurav Pahadi, Rear Rai, Bhawana Khapangi Magar, Rupesh Lama, and Suman Thapa.

This marks actor Bijay Baral’s first major role of the year following the success of ‘Purnabahadurko Sarangi’.

Produced by Kamal and Bimal Nyaupane under the Paperclip banner and directed by Himal Neupane, the film’s story, screenplay, and dialogues are penned by Bhanubhakta Dhakal. Music is composed by Thaneshwor Gautam, Arjun Pokhrel, S.D. Yogi, and Prasant Siwakoti, while cinematography is handled by Naveen Gurung and Krishna Pariyar. Kafia Films is responsible for its nationwide distribution.
