‘Jaari 2’ receives excellent response at premiere show (photos)
Directed by poet Upendra Subba, the premiere attracted a large gathering of film industry professionals and entertainment journalists.
KATHMANDU: The highly awaited film ‘Jaari 2: Song of Chyabrung’ finally hits theaters this Friday, Kartik 21 (Nov 7).
On the eve of its release, a grand premiere show was organized yesterday at Big Movies, Kamalpokhari.
Directed by poet Upendra Subba, the premiere attracted a large gathering of film industry professionals and entertainment journalists.
Viewers leaving the show praised the film for its authentic portrayal of Limbu culture. Many noted that the movie effectively highlighted how religion and culture were threatened during the Maoist insurgency period.
Prominent attendees included producers Rohit Adhikari, Saroj Neupane, Raunak Bikram Kadel, and Arjun Kumar, director Deepak Prasad Acharya (Kaku), and actors Aayushman Deshraj Joshi, Divyadev, Bipin Karki, Aruna Karki, Puja Chand, and Keki Adhikari.
The “Jaari 2” team was represented by director Upendra Subba, producers Rambabu Gurung and Maniram Pokhrel, and actors Dayahang Rai, Bijay Baral, Miruna Magar, and Reecha Sharma. Actress Miruna Magar particularly drew attention with her costume reflecting Limbu cultural heritage.
The film was also attended by Indira Rana Magar, Deputy Speaker of the dissolved House of Representatives. After watching the movie, she shared with the media: “I had watched the first part of Jari, and today I had the chance to see the second part. I am very pleased. The film delivers a meaningful message and is set in a different time period compared to the first part, beautifully presented by the director. I liked it and believe the audience will too. Everyone should watch it at least once.”
The film, which premiered worldwide today, is expected to perform aggressively at the box office, especially in eastern Nepal.
Written and directed by Upendra Subba, it is produced by Rambabu Gurung, Madhu Mijar, and Jeevan Gurung. The movie features lead performances by Dayahang Rai, Miruna Magar, and Bijay Baral.
Produced under the banners of Bansuri Films and Kabaddi Films, “Jaari 2” is regarded as one of this year’s major commercial releases.
The film also stars Buddhi Tamang, Reecha Sharma, Pushkar Gurung, Prem Subba, Maotse Gurung, Manhang Lawati, Bishnu Moktan, Kamalmani Nepal, Anil Subba, Rekha Limbu, Bedna Rai, and Sirjana Ninglekhu in supporting roles.
