Inter in trouble after 3–1 defeat to Bodo/Glimt

KATHMANDU: Norwegian champions Bodo/Glimt produced a sensational performance as they defeated Inter Milan 3–1 in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League playoff tie, taking a crucial advantage into the return match.
Kaspar Høgh was the standout performer for the hosts, scoring once and providing two assists in a dominant attacking display.
Bodo/Glimt took the lead in the 20th minute when Sondre Fet calmly finished from close range following Høgh’s assist.
Inter responded ten minutes later through a well-taken strike from Francesco Pio Esposito to level the match at 1–1, giving the Italian giants renewed hope before the break.
However, Bodo/Glimt were far superior after halftime. Jens Petter Hauge restored the lead in the 61st minute with a precise finish, and just three minutes later Høgh capped a brilliant night by scoring himself to make it 3–1.
The second leg will be played at San Siro, where Inter Milan now face a tough task to overturn the deficit and secure a place in the Round of 16.
