In pics: 19th Elephant and Tourism festival

SAURAHA, Chitwan: The 19th Elephant and Tourism Festival 2082 began today (Poush 13) in Sauraha, Chitwan, aimed at promoting both domestic and international tourism in the area.

Organized by the Chitwan Sauraha Regional Hotel Association, the festival’s inaugural program featured a cultural procession showcasing traditional tableaux from Damp Side to Gainda Chowk and Hatti Chowk.

The rally, which included 25 decorated elephants, paraded through the town before reaching the festival grounds at Baghmara Central Community Forest.

Held annually, the festival plays a key role in promoting tourism development in Chitwan. This year’s celebrations will continue until Poush 13.
