Hyatt Place opens in Butwal, boosting luxury tourism & jobs
Constructed and operated by Saffron Sike Pvt. Ltd., the hotel will be managed under a long-term agreement by the globally recognized Hyatt Hotel Group, ensuring adherence to international hospitality standards.
KATHMANDU: ‘Hotel Hyatt Place’ has come into operation in Butwal with an investment of 3.5 billion rupees.
‘Hotel Hyatt Place’, built and put into operation along the Butwal-Narayangadh road section in Sukhkhanagar, Butwal Sub-metropolitan City-8, is the first five-star hotel in Butwal, the economic center of Lumbini Province.
Constructed and operated by Saffron Sike Pvt. Ltd., the hotel will be managed under a long-term agreement by the globally recognized Hyatt Hotel Group, ensuring adherence to international hospitality standards.
Spread over 25 kathha, the hotel is a joint venture of prominent local industrialists including Chunnu Prasad Paudel, Narishwar Paudel, Bhumiraj Paudel, Kamalkishor Malpani, Umashankar Malpani, and Nitesh Malpani.
Of the Rs 3.5 billion investment, 65% has been financed through bank loans, with the remaining 35% contributed by the investor group, according to Managing Director Chunnu Prasad Paudel.
Speaking at the inauguration, Paudel said, “We established this hotel over five years with a total investment of Rs 3.5 billion, in partnership with Global IME Bank Limited. Notably, no political funding was involved. Once fully operational, the hotel will provide employment for around 350 people, prioritizing local residents from cooks and housekeeping staff to managerial positions.”
The state-of-the-art hotel features a two-level underground parking facility and a 10-story building above ground. Hyatt Place Butwal offers 109 rooms across six categories, accommodating up to 250 guests at a time.
The hotel spans approximately 5,746 square meters and includes luxury amenities such as a restaurant, swimming pool, banquet hall, casino, spa, and four seminar halls.
Conveniently located just 25 kilometers from Gautam Buddha International Airport and 28 kilometers from the Indian border at Belahiya, the hotel aims to attract international tourists while strengthening Butwal’s position as a key destination in Lumbini Province’s hospitality sector.
The hotel is adjacent to the Butwal International Convention and Exhibition Center, providing seamless accommodation options for business travelers, conferences, and tourists alike.
