Hulas & Ashok Steel begin paying outstanding premium electricity dues

KATHMANDU: Hulas Steel Industries, operating in Simara, Bara, has begun paying its outstanding premium electricity charges to the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) for power consumed through dedicated and trunk lines.

According to NEA Executive Director Manoj Silwal, the industry has started clearing arrears totaling Rs 141.2 million, accumulated between Magh 2072 and Baisakh 2075.

The payment will be made in 28 monthly installments of Rs 5.043 million each, with the first installment already submitted on Friday.

Similarly, another Simara-based company, Ashok Steel, has also started paying its dues amounting to Rs 175.8 million.

The company has opted for a 28-installment plan and has deposited the first installment of Rs 6.3 million.
