House to hold ministry-wise budget talks on June 15 & 16

According to the Federal Parliament Secretariat, concerned ministers will respond to questions raised during the discussions on Asar 3 and Asar 4.

KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives is scheduled to hold discussions on ministry-wise appropriations under the Appropriation Bill, 2083 on Asar 1 and Asar 2 (June 15 & 16).

According to the Federal Parliament Secretariat, concerned ministers will respond to questions raised during the discussions on Asar 3 and Asar 4.

On Asar 1, discussions will be held on the budget allocations of the ministries of Youth, Labour and Employment; Industry, Commerce and Supplies; Agriculture, Forests and Environment; Information and Communications; Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation; Education and Sports; Health and Food Hygiene; Land Management and Cooperatives; Federal Affairs and General Administration; and Women, Children, Gender and Sexual Minorities, and Social Security.

On Asar 2, lawmakers will deliberate on the appropriations for the ministries of Science, Technology and Innovation; Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs; Infrastructure Development; Home Affairs; Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation; Foreign Affairs; Finance; and Defence. Discussions will also cover the budget allocations for the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the Secretariat of the National Planning Commission, the Office of the Vice President, and the Office of the President.

Ministers from the ministries discussed on Asar 1 will answer lawmakers’ queries on Asar 3, while ministers from the ministries discussed on Asar 2 will respond to questions on Asar 4, the Secretariat said.

The government had presented the annual revenue and expenditure estimates (budget) for the fiscal year 2083/84 on Jestha 15.

Earlier, the House of Representatives completed the general discussion on the budget, and Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle has already responded to lawmakers’ observations and concerns.
