Home Ministry urges restraint after Humla–Bajura border incident
The Ministry stated that security forces, including Nepal Police and Armed Police Force, Nepal, have already been deployed to both districts to manage the situation and ensure public safety.
KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Home Affairs has appealed to the public for calm and restraint following an incident reported in the border area between Humla and Bajura districts.
Issuing a press statement on Sunday, the Ministry said a high-level investigation team led by a Senior Superintendent of Police has been formed to establish the facts surrounding the incident.
The decision was taken during an emergency meeting chaired by the Home Secretary, with participation from the Defence Secretary and chiefs and representatives of all security agencies.
The Ministry stated that security forces, including Nepal Police and Armed Police Force, Nepal, have already been deployed to both districts to manage the situation and ensure public safety.
“The Ministry has been actively engaged since receiving information about the incident and has immediately mobilized special teams from both districts,” the statement read.
The investigation committee has been instructed to reach the site without delay and submit its report at the earliest.
The Ministry further directed district security committees to remain on high alert and strengthen security strategies to prevent any recurrence of such incidents.
Reaffirming its commitment to peace and border security, the Ministry said additional security personnel will be deployed if necessary.
It also noted that continuous coordination meetings are being held with elected representatives and concerned stakeholders to seek a long-term resolution.
