KATHMANDU: Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal on Sunday night visited hospitals in the capital to check on passengers injured in a deadly bus crash in Dhading.

He was briefed on their condition and ongoing treatment. The minister assured victims and families that the government has placed top priority on their care and urged doctors to leave no stone unturned in treatment.
The accident occurred around 1:30 a.m. when a bus traveling from Pokhara to Kathmandu along the Prithvi Highway veered off the road at Bhainsigauda in Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality and plunged toward the bank of the Trishuli River.
According to the Ministry of Home Affairs Nepal, 19 of the 44 passengers on board lost their lives, while 25 were injured.
The wounded are receiving treatment at multiple hospitals in Kathmandu, Nepal Police said.
Earlier on Saturday, a meeting chaired by Minister Aryal at the Home Ministry decided to prioritize treatment for the injured and to form an accident investigation committee to determine the cause of the crash.
