KATHMANDU: Due to incessant rain on Monday night, various places in Kathmandu Valley have been flooded. Rivers and streams along the valley have overflowed, resulting in widespread inundation.

Floodwaters have entered the vegetable market in Balkhu and the squatter settlements. Additionally, the UML party office in Chyasal, Lalitpur, and the ANFA football ground are also affected by flooding. The rain and subsequent flooding have disrupted transportation across the valley.

The Bagmati River’s tributaries, including Bishnumati, Dhobi Khola, Manohara, Hanumante, Godawari, Khodku, and Nakkhu, have surpassed alert levels, with some reaching critical levels and continuing to rise.

The Department of Water and Meteorology has advised caution due to the increasing water levels.
