Heavy rain, thunderstorms disrupt transport across UAE

KATHMANDU: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) was hit by heavy rain and intense thunderstorms on Monday, causing waterlogging on major roads and disrupting transportation in several areas.

Loud thunderclaps were reported across different parts of the country as storm systems developed.

Authorities from the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority said such sounds are normal and expected during unstable weather conditions.
