Govt to form committee to probe violent Gen Z protest

KATHMANDU: Following the violent turn of Monday’s Gen Z protest in Kathmandu, the government has decided to set up a committee to investigate the incident.

A minister confirmed that the Cabinet, in a meeting held Monday evening, approved the formation of the panel to conduct a thorough inquiry.

The committee will examine the details of the incident, identify the causes of violence, and determine the responsible parties.

According to the Terms of Reference (TOR), the committee is required to submit its report to the government within 15 days.

The government has pledged to uncover the facts and take appropriate action based on the findings.
