KATHMANDU: The government has reshuffled the security team assigned to former King Gyanendra Shah, reducing the number of security personnel assigned to his protection.

According to sources from the Ministry of Home Affairs, the team led by DSP Jagdish Hamal has been recalled, and a new team of 16 personnel under the command of Pramod Prakash Pathak has been deployed.

This change is in line with the VIP security protocol.

Earlier, at a Cabinet meeting held on Friday night, it was concluded that the recent violent incident in Tinkune, Kathmandu, was linked to former King Shah, prompting a reassessment of his security arrangements.
