KATHMANDU: Anthony Gordon scored the decisive goal as Newcastle United defeated Chelsea FC 1–0 at Stamford Bridge, dealing a blow to Chelsea’s hopes of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League.

The breakthrough came in the 18th minute when Gordon finished calmly after a well-worked move.

Tino Livramento initiated the attack and played the ball to Joe Willock, whose pass set up Gordon for a straightforward finish.

Chelsea created several chances to level the match but failed to convert. Cole Palmer appealed for a penalty that the referee waved away, while a handball claim against Marc Cucurella was also dismissed.

Late in the game, Liam Delap missed a promising opportunity, and Chelsea captain Reece James saw a superb free kick strike the post.

City Held by West Ham

Manchester City were held to a 1–1 draw by West Ham United in the Premier League, a result that dents their title challenge.

City took the lead in the 31st minute at London Stadium when captain Bernardo Silva found the net.

However, West Ham equalized just four minutes later as Jarrod Bowen delivered a corner that Konstantinos Mavropanos headed home.

City pushed for a winner in the second half but were repeatedly denied by West Ham goalkeeper Mads Hermansen, who produced an excellent save to stop Erling Haaland.

Despite late pressure from City, the match ended in a draw, leaving them nine points behind league leaders Arsenal FC.

The result lifted West Ham out of the relegation zone for the first time since December, while Nottingham Forest slipped into the bottom three.

Arsenal Win as 16-Year-Old Sets Record

Max Dowman made Premier League history by becoming the youngest goalscorer ever as Arsenal secured a 2–0 victory over Everton FC.

With the match heading toward a draw, Arsenal broke the deadlock in the 89th minute when Viktor Gyökeres scored from close range after Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford misjudged Dowman’s cross.

Everton pushed forward for a late equalizer and even sent Pickford up for a corner in stoppage time. But Arsenal capitalized on the empty goal as Dowman dribbled past two defenders and scored into the unguarded net.

At 16 years and 73 days, Dowman became the youngest scorer in Premier League history, surpassing the previous record held by James Vaughan.
