KATHMANDU: The nationwide ‘Gen Z’ protests have intensified on their second day, with demonstrators targeting political leaders’ private residences. Today, protesters threw stones at the private home of CPN-UML Secretary Raghubir Mahaseth in Janakpur.

The incident took place at Mahaseth’s residence in Ward No. 9, Bharampuri, Janakpurdham, causing minor damage, according to eyewitnesses.

Organized through social media over the past few days, the ‘Gen Z’ groups have been staging protests across the country, demanding reforms. In many instances, they have escalated their actions, targeting both political leaders’ residences and government offices with vandalism and arson.

In response, the District Administration Office has extended the curfew in Birgunj Metropolitan City. The curfew, initially imposed from 9:00 PM Monday night to 9:00 AM Tuesday morning, has now been extended until 6:00 PM today.
