KATMANDU: Former Additional Inspector General (AIG) of Nepal Police Bishwaraj Pokharel has joined the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).

The party welcomed him on Friday and nominated him as the Senior Advisor to the Central Discipline Commission.

RSP has also nominated advocate Sushila Singhkhada as a party member.

Similarly, under the coordination of party treasurer Lima Adhikari, a new Candidate Selection and Audit Committee has been formed, comprising Prashant Pradhan, Anil Adhikari, and Kumar Anand Mishra.

The party has also made 15 new appointments across various central departments and commissions.

Meanwhile, RSP has moved forward with preparations for a unity announcement with the Bibeksheel Sajha Party.

According to party spokesperson Manish Jha, Friday’s Secretariat meeting decided to call a Central Committee meeting to discuss the unification plan.

He said the High-Level Dialogue Committee has reported significant progress, adding that the process of bringing together political forces advocating for change is now nearing a major milestone.
