KATHMANDU: Shishir Khanal has lands in Beijing on a four-day official visit at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, marking an effort to further strengthen Nepal–China relations.

According to the Nepali Embassy in Beijing, Minister Khanal reached the Chinese capital this afternoon (local time) after departing late last night.

He was received at the airport by Nepal’s Acting Ambassador to China, Mrs. Roshan Khanal, along with officials from China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In his honour, the Nepali Embassy will host a welcome reception this evening, where the minister is also expected to interact with the Nepali diaspora in China.

During his visit, Khanal is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi to discuss ways to deepen Nepal–China relations and expand mutual cooperation. He will also meet other senior Chinese officials in separate engagements.

The visit also includes participation in an investment conference organized by the Nepali Embassy in Beijing, aimed at attracting foreign investment into Nepal. Minister Khanal will additionally hold discussions with Chinese entrepreneurs and business leaders.

He is scheduled to return to Nepal on Asar 3 (June 17).
