Ex-King Gyanendra voices concern over Nepal’s crises on National Unity Day

KATHMANDU: Reflecting on nearly two decades since he left the Narayanhiti Royal Palace, former King Gyanendra Shah expressed concern over the challenges the country continues to face.
On the occasion of National Unity Day 2082, he extended greetings to Nepalis at home and abroad through a video message, while also commemorating the contributions of King Prithvi Narayan Shah, the nation’s founder.
He recalled that he stepped back from active governance with a supportive intent, trusting that political parties in power would guide the country toward economic progress and stability.
Today, the 304th birth anniversary of King Prithvi Narayan Shah is being celebrated across the country with various programs, honoring his legacy since his birth in 1779 B.S.
