Establishment of help desk to address complaints of meter usury victims

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Home Affairs has instructed all the district administration offices to set up facilitation desks for immediate hearing of complaints, petitions and complaints of the victims.

The ministry issued a statement and assigned tasks to officer-level personnel to set up a desk to investigate such concerns and to post the information and phone numbers of those working at the desk on the office’s website.

The Ministry has also announced that Chiranjeevi GM, a branch officer of the Ministry of Home Affairs, has been appointed as the point of contact to coordinate with the District Administration Office and other agencies on the issue of immediately addressing victims’ complaints about meter badges.

The ministry has also publicized the phone number and email address for filing complaints on meter badges (improper transactions).

The Ministry of Home Affairs and the Kisan Labor Struggle Committee against meter interest and fraud reached an agreement on 4 points on Falgun 28 (March 11).
