EFS Fight Night 8 set to ignite Kathmandu with Int’l Muay Thai Action
WBC Muay Thai Nepal, established on August 27, 2021, aims to elevate Muay Thai through athlete development, structured competition, and international exposure.
KATHMANDU: Kathmandu is all set to witness one of Nepal’s biggest Muay Thai events as the 8th WBC Muay Thai National Championship — “EFS Fight Night 8” — takes place on May 16, 2026.
Organized officially by WBC Muay Thai Nepal, the highly anticipated championship will feature 26 action-packed fights involving 52 athletes from across the country.

The event includes six professional bouts, while the remaining contests will be conducted under amateur and pro-amateur Muay Thai rules.
The headline attraction of the night will be the 58kg Super Featherweight National Championship clash between Kama Bahadur Magrati of Erawan Muay Thai Fight Gym and Gurman Gharti Magar representing Gymkhana Performance.

The winner will claim the prestigious WBC Muay Thai National Championship Belt along with a cash prize of Rs 100,000.
The co-main event will showcase an exciting international showdown in the 48kg Light Flyweight division, where Nepal’s Karishma Karki will face India’s Puspa R.
Preliminary Bouts
- Santosh Khatn (Rage Fitness) vs Allen Thakali (Sakyant) — 69.8kg Super Welterweight Division
- Phurba Sherpa (Fitzen) vs Anup Katuai (Hit N Run) — 62kg Lightweight Division
- Sanju Lama (Fitzen) vs Alish Bomjom (Hardik Fitness) — 54.5kg Bantamweight Division
- Mubin Rai (Erawan) vs Dawa Lama (Yodhha) — 54.5kg Bantamweight Division
According to the organizers, fighters from nine different gyms across Nepal will participate in the championship, reflecting the rapid rise and nationwide expansion of Muay Thai in the country.

The event is supported by the Bagmati Youth and Sports Council and Budhanilkantha Municipality.
Major sponsors for the championship include Yeti Airlines and Extreme Energy Drinks, while 977 Clothing Brand joins as the apparel partner.

Dish Home will serve as the broadcasting partner, and Erawan Muay Thai Fight Gym has been named the official gym partner.
Organizers stated that “EFS Fight Night 8” aims to raise the standard of Muay Thai in Nepal by following international WBC Muay Thai practices and further strengthening Nepal’s presence in the global combat sports arena.
