Education Minister Pun compares his ministry bedroom to a five-star hotel

KATHMANDU: Education, Science, and Technology Minister Mahabir Pun has likened his newly prepared bedroom within the ministry to a “five-star hotel.”
The special arrangement was made at the Keshar Mahal in Lainchaur after a fire at the Education Ministry in Singha Durbar forced relocation.
Inspecting his new room on Tuesday evening, Minister Pun remarked, “Now I can sleep in a place like a five-star hotel. The room is spacious, well-arranged, and the bed is big… it’s exactly like a luxury hotel.”
On the day he assumed office, Minister Pun had instructed the ministry secretary to prepare a place for him to stay and eat within the ministry.
Following his instructions, a bedroom and small kitchen were set up on Tuesday itself.
Recalling his humble days at the National Innovation Center, where he used to sleep on the floor under a tent, Pun expressed gratitude to the ministry staff for arranging a fully equipped living space for him.
The arrangement includes a partitioned bedroom with a box bed, table, chair, and cupboard, alongside a compact kitchen equipped with cookware and a refrigerator.
The setup comes in the wake of finding alternative accommodation after the minister’s residence in Bhainsepati, Lalitpur, was affected by fire during the recent Gen Z youth protest.
