Early collapse to epic comeback — Royals proved their strength: Coach Tomata
He admitted the team’s heartbeat had risen when four wickets fell early in the powerplay.
KATHMANDU: Sudurpaschim Royals head coach Jagat Tomata said his team’s fighting total gave them the belief that they could secure victory through strong bowling as well.
After an impressive comeback win against Kathmandu Gorkhas, Tomata said the Royals had posted a competitive score that boosted their confidence to defend it with the ball.
He admitted the team’s heartbeat had risen when four wickets fell early in the powerplay.
According to Tomata, skipper Dipendra Singh Airee delivered perfectly in the role he was assigned, while Harmit Singh’s aggressive batting helped the team reach a respectable total.
He also highlighted the crucial partnership between Airee and Aasif Sheikh, which stabilized the innings.
On the bowling side, Tomata said taking three wickets in the powerplay was the turning point in their defense.
He added that Scott’s spell later in the innings completely shifted the momentum in Sudurpaschim’s favor, sealing an important victory for the Royals.
