Dr. Shekhar Koirala unveils election manifesto (full text)

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress leader and House of Representatives candidate from Morang-6, Dr. Shekhar Koirala, has officially unveiled his election manifesto, pledging to uphold “parliamentary supremacy, constitutional protection, stability, and progress.”
The manifesto prioritizes eight key sectors for development and good governance: strengthening democracy, promoting good governance, education, health, agriculture and farmers’ welfare, digital development, industrial promotion, and long-term flood management.
Dr. Koirala emphasized his commitment to ensuring full implementation of the Constitution and advocating for timely amendments in Parliament.
He vowed to remain active in strengthening democracy from the ground up and safeguarding the dignity of the parliamentary system.
On economic growth and employment, Dr. Koirala launched the slogan, “Employment not abroad, but in our own region.” The manifesto highlights policies to restart inactive industries in Morang and revive struggling enterprises, creating local employment opportunities and curbing youth outmigration.
Addressing key local issues, Dr. Koirala pledged to implement long-term flood control plans and advance development initiatives through digital technology.
He also prioritized resolving farmers’ problems and ensuring accessible education and healthcare for all residents.
