KATHMANDU: Morang-6 candidate and senior Nepali Congress (NC) leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala inaugurated party offices in six wards of Budhiganga Rural Municipality in a single day, stepping up preparations for the upcoming elections.
The offices in wards 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 7 were officially opened by Dr. Koirala, signaling a major boost to the party’s grassroots presence.

Addressing the inauguration, Dr. Koirala highlighted the development progress in Budhiganga over recent years. He cited significant improvements in drinking water supply, road networks, health institutions, and other infrastructure projects. “Budhiganga’s face has transformed compared to the past,” he said. “If anyone claims there has been no development, I cannot agree.”
As the elections scheduled for March 5 draw closer, Congress candidates are intensifying their campaigns and reaching out to voters across the municipality.
Proportional representation candidate Rukmini Koirala urged residents to support Nepali Congress to protect the Constitution and the nation.
Similarly, proportional representative candidate Pramila Gachhadar emphasized the need to recognize forces attempting to destabilize the country post-people’s movement and said the responsibility of nation-building rests with Congress.

Dr. Koirala, while addressing election rallies, is also engaging with citizens from various professions to seek their support.
He stressed that only a Congress victory can safeguard democracy, uphold the Constitution, ensure parliamentary supremacy, and preserve the country’s religious and cultural identity.
According to Nepali Congress Budhiganga Vice-Chair Kiran Chaudhary, Dr. Koirala is expanding the scope of the campaign, making the party’s electoral efforts more impactful.
