KATHMANDU: Dr. Chanda Karki, MP of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has cautioned against hastily pushing bills in parliament.

Speaking at the International Relations and Tourism Committee meeting in Singha Durbar on Friday, she emphasized the importance of careful consideration before advancing legislation.

Recalling the resignation of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee chair Ramhari Khatiwada due to rushed work, she warned lawmakers not to act in haste and later regret their decisions. “We must thoroughly understand bills before moving them forward. Recently, one committee chair even had to resign because of hurried decisions. We all ended up approving bills without proper scrutiny,” she said.

Dr. Karki urged MPs to engage in proper discussions in both the House and committees to ensure legislation is well-considered before passage.
