Curfew imposed in Lalitpur amid Gen Z protests

KATHMANDU: The Lalitpur District Administration Office has imposed a day-long curfew starting Tuesday morning in response to the ongoing Gen Z movement.

According to a notice signed by Chief District Officer Suman Ghimire, the curfew has been enforced under Section 6 of the Local Administration Act, 2028.

It will remain in effect from 7:00 AM until midnight across several sensitive areas of Lalitpur Metropolitan City.

The restricted zones include Wards 2, 4, 5, 15, and 24 of the metropolitan area.

Within these boundaries, no movement, gatherings, rallies, demonstrations, assemblies, meetings, or sit-ins will be permitted.

Authorities stated that the curfew aims to maintain peace and order during the escalating protests.
