Curfew imposed in Birgunj, lifted in Gaur following clashes

KATHMANDU: The District Administration Office of Parsa has imposed a curfew in parts of Birgunj Metropolitan City.

Chief District Officer Bholanath Dahal announced that the curfew will be in effect from 9:45 a.m. until further notice.

The order prohibits movement, gatherings, processions, protests, meetings, and assemblies within the designated areas.

Authorities said the curfew was imposed in response to recent security concerns.

Meanwhile, the curfew in Gaur, Rautahat has been lifted.

Following a peace and harmony rally led by civil society in Gaur-6 Subgadha, the District Administration Office ended the restrictions, and normal life has resumed.

The curfew had been imposed after clashes escalated over a wedding procession last Saturday.
