CPN-UML selects Suhang Nemwang as candidate for Ilam-2
Suhang, the son of the late Subash Chandra Nemwang, has been chosen to carry forward his father's legacy and represent the party in the electoral fray.
KATHMANDU: The central committee meeting held at the party headquarters in Chyasal on Sunday decided to nominate Suhang Nemwang as the candidate for the upcoming by-election in Ilam Constituency No. 2.
The decision to field Suhang comes after the unfortunate demise of Subash Chandra Nemwang, the former Deputy Leader and Chair of the Constituent Assembly, on Bhadra 26 (Sept 12). Following his passing, the constituency seat had been vacant.
Suhang, the son of the late Subash Chandra Nemwang, has been chosen to carry forward his father’s legacy and represent the party in the electoral fray.
Having previously engaged in legal practice, Suhang Nemwang has actively contributed to electoral activities in the past. The party also decided to nominate Daman Bahadur Bhandari for the by-election in State 1’s Bajhang constituency.
In a bid to ensure victory for their candidates in both by-elections, the party’s Deputy Secretary Pradeep Gyawali appealed for the united support of entire party and other allied groups.
Additionally, the CPN-UML has appointed Ain Mahara as a central member of the party.
Mahara’s commitment to active participation and dedication to the principles of honesty have led to his reappointment as a central member, as highlighted by Deputy Secretary Gyawali.
