Congress withdrawing its support from Prachanda government
Ramesh Lekhak, Chief Whip of the Congress Parliamentary Party, announced that three decisions will be made during the Central Performance Committee meeting.
KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress is ready to withdraw its support for Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.
Congress will withdraw its support for the government after a meeting of the executive committee in Budhanilkantha, party president Sher Bahadur Deuba’s home, on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
Ramesh Lekhak, Chief Whip of the Congress Parliamentary Party, announced that three decisions will be made during the Central Performance Committee meeting.
“Today we will make three decisions,” he said, “We take a decision to withdraw from the government, withdraw the support given to the government and stay in the opposition.”
Since Sunday evening, Prime Minister Prachanda has broken the Congress-led coalition and returned to the UML-led coalition. A new alliance has been formed which includes UML, Maoists, National Independent Party and JSP.
On Monday, Prime Minister Prachanda appointed one person each from UML, Maoist and RSP as minister without department.
After the Maoists changed the alliance, the Congress will make its strategy from the center to the state.
It has taken the policy of withdrawing the support given to the Maoist-led government and dismissing the Maoist ministers.
