KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress parliamentary party meeting is scheduled to be held today.

Originally planned for Monday, the meeting was postponed to this morning.

The Congress had postponed its meeting to hold discussions with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, advocating for a parliamentary investigation committee into the cooperative fraud issue.

However, the top leaders of the three ruling parties concluded that forming a parliamentary committee as demanded by the Nepali Congress was not feasible.

Consequently, the Congress is expected to devise further strategies in today’s meeting.

The Nepali Congress is prepared to obstruct the presentation of the government’s policies and programs if a parliamentary committee is not formed to investigate the alleged involvement of Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane in the misappropriation of cooperative savings.
