Complaint against Vice President candidate Ram Sahaya dismissed

KATHMANDU: The election officer’s office has maintained Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav’s candidacy for vice president.
The complaint against Yadav was dismissed, and his candidacy was maintained.
After a thorough review, Electoral Officer Mahesh Sharma Poudel informed the candidates that their candidacy had been upheld.
Candidates Astalaxmi Shakya and Mamata Jha filed a complaint against Ram Sahaya’s candidacy, claiming that because the President is a man, the Vice President cannot be a man as well.
Shakya UML and Jha are Janamat candidates. Ram Chandra Poudel has been elected President of Nepal. Yadav was chosen from the Madhesi community.
Pramila Yadav of the JSP has also been nominated for vice president.
The final list will be published today, after the nominations have been returned.
