KATHMANDU: Colombia have secured their place in the FIFA World Cup knockout stage after a narrow 1–0 victory over DR Congo in their Group K clash.

Daniel Muñoz scored the decisive goal in the 76th minute, giving Colombia national football team all three points and maintaining their perfect start to the group stage.

The win follows their earlier 3–1 triumph over Uzbekistan national football team, taking Colombia to six points from two matches.

DR Congo national football team had previously held Portugal national football team to a 1–1 draw, while Portugal boosted their campaign with a commanding 5–0 win over Uzbekistan in their opening fixtures.

With two consecutive victories, Colombia now sit firmly at the top of the group, while DR Congo remain in contention after earning a valuable point against Portugal earlier in the competition.
