KATHMANDU: Chitwan Rhinos have set a modest target of 143 runs for Lumbini Lions in the Nepal Premier League (NPL), powered by a composed half-century from veteran all-rounder Ravi Bopara.
Winning the toss and opting to bowl first at the TU Cricket Ground, Kirtipur, Lumbini restricted Chitwan to 142/7 in their allotted 20 overs.
Bopara was the backbone of Chitwan’s innings, scoring a solid 66 runs off 55 balls, including 4 fours and 3 sixes.
Captain Kushal Malla contributed a quick 21 runs off 18 balls with one six, while Saif Zaib (15), Dev Khanal (14) and Deepak Bohora (10) added small but useful runs.
For Lumbini Lions, Ruben Trumpelmann delivered the standout bowling performance, claiming 3 wickets, while Avinash Gautam and Gulbadin Naib picked up 2 wickets each.
Lumbini will now chase 143 runs to secure victory in this NPL encounter.
