Budget to be presented in joint Parliament sitting on May 29

KATHMANDU: The Federal Parliament will convene a joint session of the House of Representatives and the National Assembly on Friday, May 29 (Jestha 15) at 4:00 PM to present the upcoming fiscal year’s budget.

During today’s House meeting, Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal instructed lawmakers to be present by 3:45 PM for the joint session.

As per the constitutional provision introduced after the 2015 Constitution, the national budget is presented every year on May 29 in a joint sitting of both houses.

The date also coincides with Republic Day observances.

Additionally, the House of Representatives meeting has been scheduled for 5:30 PM on the same day.
