KATHMANDU: Activist Navaraj Bohara, who recently completed a 31-day barefoot march from Surkhet to Kathmandu to protest corruption and misgovernance in Karnali Province, continues to engage with top political leaders in the capital.

On Wednesday, he met with senior Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala.

During the meeting, Dr. Koirala praised Bohara’s symbolic and courageous journey and expressed full solidarity with the issues he has raised, particularly regarding good governance.

Koirala reaffirmed his long-standing support for clean politics, stating that he would stand firmly with Bohara’s campaign both personally and through his party.

Who is Navaraj Bohara?

Bohara began his barefoot journey on Jestha 4 from Surkhet with the aim of drawing national attention to issues like governance, development, environmental balance, and animal protection in Karnali Province.

After walking over a month, he arrived in Kathmandu on Ashar 3.

Describing his march not just as a physical journey but as a symbolic act of civil resistance, Bohara announced the completion of the first phase of his campaign and shared plans to continue it in a new form.

His initiative, which he refers to as a symbolic Satyagraha, has started to gain traction among political circles and the public alike.
